The cannabis in Archaic Europe
In the 1500 BC the marijuana arrives thus at Europe by the Eastern zone propagating towards the central and northern zone. Rest of hemp in a funeral ballot box of Wimerdorf (Brandeburgo) located in the tomb of century X A.C exist.
The cannabis was used for multiple facets, one between so many was the one to produce paper, the first manuscripts that are conserved are Buddhist texts of centuries II and III.
Conserved in the British Museum; the study of Wiener investigator demonstrates that the paper is a mixture of crust and old pieces mainly of hemp.
The Chinese also made paper from the hemp. The francs, vikingos, Germanic, etc. also elaborated paper in year 600.
The first testimony of its ebriedad talks about the nomadic population of the escitas, of Siberian steppes between centuries I and III BC
According to Heródoto (484 to the 425 BC) it describes a species of sauna where the Persians threw great pieces of hemp (more surely in form of haschisch) on warmed up stones; they are embriagan inhaling the smoke, as the Greeks drinking the wine.
The escitas when dying some close relative took them to house upon a car of their friends and these offer a food to the séquito giving to the dead the same food that to the others, the corpse was transported during forty days soon was buried.
Once buried the escitas they were purified of the following way; nailed three woods in the ground inclined the one towards the other, extends above and by the environs frazadas of wool and, connecting them best the possible thing, they in center put stones to red the alive one in a located container of the space that form woods, under the frazadas ones.
In that region it grows, either spontaneously, or cultivated, a hemp plant. The escitas after to have gathered the seeds are introduced in the store and soon they throw the seeds on stones reddened by the heat.
The thrown seeds produce smoke and emanate a steam so that no Greek steam bath could surpass it. The escitas, ebrios because of the smoke, gave joy shouts.
The escitas nomads introduced this custom in other tribes, like for example in the Thracians. The culture of the cannabis arrived at Europe by the north and not by the south; neither Greek nor the Romans cultivated this plant systematically.
They obtained it from celtas from century VII BC In Marseilles cords were offered, candles and estopas to all Mediterranean. Pipes exist that they indicate that they used them to smoke marijuana.
One stood everywhere, from Austria to United Kingdom.
